Our Programme
Student application process:
1. Students can apply online via the application form on WFY website.
2. Students will have to enroll in the partner institution – MDS Senior Secondary School. The admission process for MDS Senior Secondary School will be run independently by the school and once admitted, students can apply for financial assistance from WFY by submitting the application.
3. Students will have to demonstrate need for financial assistance by submitting necessary documentation.
4. Selection for financial assistance will be done by taking into consideration the essays in the application form, teacher recommendations, past academic and/or extra-curricular track record, current year academic performance and demonstrable need for financial assistance.
5. For year 2022-23, five students will be provided financial assistance for tuition fee and books/stationery boarding fee and 3 students will provided financial assistance for pursuing extra-curricular activities/sports.
6. The financial assistance will be provided by direct transfer to MDS Senior Secondary School and/or to the specific institute/academy where students are pursuing extra-curricular activities.
7. Selection of the students will be done a panel appointed by Board of Trustees
Donor programme:
WFY invites contributions from donors who will be able to sponsor students for specific assistance or can choose to contribute to the overall pool of resources which will be administered by the WFY trust. WFY trust will explore to combine the donations from multiple donors if needed in order to match the contribution to needs of the selected students.
Donors can choose from four different programs which will provide specific assistance to students based on level of donations.
For support for extra-curricular endeavours, financial assistance will be provided for each recipient based on their preferred activities and fee of the institute. This will be subject to a maximum support of Rs 120,000 (USD1500) per annum. WFY will acknowledge all donors with a certificate of appreciation and with permission of the donors will display their contribution on the Donor Honor Roll. WFY is in process of applying to India Income Tax authorities for Section 80G deductions under Indian Income Tax Act to be made available to all Indian donors. An anonymized consolidated periodic report card of progress of all the recipients will be published on WFY’s website.
